Ethnic outfit is like a dream of all Indian girls. From childhood, we culture the traditional values and ideas in us…growing up following the footsteps of our mother and grandmother. There is hardly any girl who hasn't grabbed her mom’s saree or suit in her childhood and tried to dress up like her.
Ethnic outfit carrying the essence of our roots adds the perfect blend of glamour and traditions to our look. Be it any occasion or any season, Indian attire never goes out of trend. There are always a vast variety of options available in terms of colors, fabrics or styles  according to each one  of our needs and taste. But sometimes, it can be really tricky to choose the perfect ethnic outfit for ourselves.


So here are some quick tips and tricks that would help you to choose the perfect traditional attire for you.

THE FABRIC

Choosing the perfect fabric for your ethnic outfit is the foremost priority to be given. Always consider your body type and the occasion you are attending before making your decision. For example soft and flowy fabrics like Chiffon, Georgette tends to cling to your body and makes you look slimer and flaunts your curves. On the other hand heavy fabrics like jardousi or benarasi adds more volume .


Also considering about the occasion and type of weather you will be dealing with, precise choices should be done. Day functions are the best place to flaunt any light weight flowy fabric. You can reserve the heavier and gorgeous ones for the night time.



THE COLOUR

I personally feel choice of color is a relative process. It completely depends upon our personal preferences, likings and to some extent on our skin tone. But you should do the perfect pairing when it comes to ethnic wear. According to the current trend, contrasting colours and pairing out of the way is gaining its rule over the industry.


If you choose your sari or lehenga skirt from a vibrant colour family, you can easily mute it down by a completely opposite pastel shade in your blouse.

THE STYLING

The styling part is very important when it comes to ethnic outfit. Proper styling can uplift a basic outfit to another level, whereas the opposite can cause fashion disasters as well. There is a misconception that you must go overboard with all the angles of your look: outfit, jewelry, makeup in order to get a perfect ethnic look. But this doesn't work for obvious reasons, it results in so much crowding in your look that your own beauty gets lost somewhere.



You should always try to make one particular element of your look the statement and keep all the other elements as minimalistic as possible. For example if you wear a lehenga with heavy and intricate work, try to minimalise your jewelry and let the beauty of your lehenga flourish. On the other hand if you go for a classic simple outfit with minimal accessory, a bold makeup look can stand out and uplift the look.


So these were the few tips that you can consider before choosing your Indian wear.

Nevertheless, wear what makes you happy, not following the rules blindly, walk out in confidence and give a big smile….trust me you will look the prettiest.
