90s’ BOLLYWOOD FASHION TRENDS THAT STILL SLAY TODAY
Mere khwaabon mein jo aaye
Aake mujhe chhed jaaye
Use kahon kabhi samne to aaye
This phenomenal song with Kajol acing her two piece bikini
look can never be left out from our mind or heart. It was the golden era of Bollywood
and the people went gaga about copying their favorite actor/actresses in every single means possible.
Fashion was in no way in compromise either. 90s' Bollywood was
flaunting its outrageous trends of bell bottom pants, co-ord sets, middie
dresses and over-sized sunglasses.
Who can not fall in love with the super trendy street-style
look of Urmila matondkar form Rangilla or the stunning Juhi chawla doing all
justice to the pretty off shoulder dresses in Ishq.
In today's time when fashion industry is at its peak, people
have started rediscovering timeless fashion statements which never go out of trend. In this search for evergreen pieces, 90s' bollywood fashion standout as one of the
leading contenders. The casual yet dramatic retro looks are back in the game with
a full swing. Fashion experts are digging out and rediscovering the looks which
were brought into scenario late in the 90s.
Today my blog post is all about recreating 3 such looks
inspired by the 90s' Bollywood fashion which have never gone out of trend and
remained evergreen since ages.
FIRST LOOK
The 1st look has all the elements of casual street-style
fashion in it. Loose fitted boyfriend jeans being the game-changer since years, is
now in the list of topmost wardrobe staples. I have paired it with the black
embroidered bodysuit to add my own twist to the look.
With this super-fun casual look the white sneakers makes the
perfect match and overall the look is so much wearable for a college girl.
To maintain the retro theme on point I have added the big
hoop earrings and made my hair into the sleek ponytails.
SECOND LOOK
The 2nd look is a bit more dramatic and feminine.
90s' Bollywood was a big fan of off shoulder tops and lacy fabrics. I tried to
recreate the trend in my own way by pairing this beautiful lacy off shoulder
top with the middie a-line skirt.
Dark lips and colorful headbands have been among the
topmost favorite list of the 90s designers. This look maybe a bit crazy as a daily on the go outfit, but
would surely make a perfect option if you are going for a brunch date or a
dayout with your girls.
THIRD LOOK
The 3rd and final look has to be my favorite. The
one single statement piece that comes in mind when talking about 90s' Bollywood
fashion is nothing but bell-bottom pants.
From Rani to Raveena no one has
failed to be a stunner in the bell-bottoms during the era of cotton candies.
So my 90s' Bollywood look-book wouldn't have been complete
without trying this shocking green bell-bottoms.
Since the pants are a bit too
much dramatic for an everyday outfit, I have tamed the look down by pairing it
with a basic graphic print t-shirt.
Well, how can I miss those oversized shades to complete the
look.
So these were the 3 fun looks that I recreated . Hope you found it helpful.
